Nevitskij Castle

Its picturesque ruins as the eagle nest are proudly raised above the Uzhanska Valley. The picturesqueness on the remarkable round landscapes is the reason why tourists never pass over this district. Time of castle creation falls on the second half of the 13th century. In historical documents the Nevitskij Castle was mentioned for the first time in the XIV century as the first place of popular uprising against a royal authority. In 1644 it was ruined by army of Djord II Rakotsi who organized a military campaign against Ferdinand III, the Austrian King. After that the Nevitskij stronghold was not restored any more. In the beginning of 90th years of the 20th century the castle became an object of systematic scientific researches which drawn attention to this valuable historical and architectonic monument.
